Joe Biden is running for President.
He officially announced his candidacy on April 25th, 2019. So let’s take a look at Joe Biden’s horoscope. What does it say about him? And what does it say about his chances of being elected President in 2020?
Here’s his ‘Joe Biden for President’ official launch video…
Biden was born November 20th, 1942, in Scranton, Pennsylvania at about 8:30am according to astrodatabank.com.
The birth time is considered ‘reasonably accurate’ (Rated ‘A’ on astrodatabank). His horoscope based on the above birth data looks like this…
Four planets in Scorpio
One of the most noticeable features of Joe Biden’s horoscope is his four planets (Sun, Venus, Mercury and Mars) in Scorpio. This is shown by the red oval, above.
Astrologers call a cluster of planets like this a ‘stellium.’ And Biden’s stellium is located in his 12th house, with Mars conjunct (next to) the 12th house cusp.
But remember that correct house placement (in any horoscope) is dependent on having an accurate birth time. So we need to bear this in mind. Especially since we don’t know Biden’s exact birth time.
Scorpio is a water sign, ruled by Mars (some say Pluto, but not me!). Scorpio is known for as the zodiac sign of emotional intensity. And it is a sign that takes things very seriously, with considerable focus and depth. In Biden’s case it also means this serious approach will be ‘behind the scenes,’ and not so obvious in public. This is because the 12th house these planets inhabit in Joe Biden’s horoscope is associated with behind-the-scenes privacy and seclusion.
Positively, these four planets in Scorpio indicate Biden certainly has ‘weight’ and gravity of purpose and expression. Particularly in terms of his identity (Sun), values and loves (Venus), communication (Mercury) and actions (Mars). Albeit in a way that is not immediately obvious (12th house), if his birth time is accurate.
Biden’s Sun and Venus are tightly conjunct (i.e. very close together) in Scorpio. Indicating what he loves, desires and values (Venus) is closely entwined with his sense of self, his identity and ego (Sun). This combination signature can indicate a private (12th house) yet intense ‘charm.’ And perhaps a sense of identity (Sun) wrapped up with his passions in life (Venus). They are ‘one in the same’ for Biden.
Sagittarius Ascendant (aka ‘Rising Sign’)
Biden’s Ascendant (green arrow, above) is a fire sign, Sagittarius. Again, this is based on assuming the birth time is accurate. For example, if he was born about 10 minutes earlier, his Ascendant would be Scorpio.
A Sagittarius Ascendant indicates he can ‘come across’ as more enthusiastic and optimistic than he might be, privately.
The Ascendant is about personality – how we appear to others, and the world generally. And Biden’s here is more ‘up-beat’ and he can present Jupiter qualities of ‘hope’ and opportunity.
This is amplified by his Ascendant ruler, Jupiter, being in a trine aspect (about 120 degrees) to his Sun, Venus and Mercury in Scorpio. This is shown by the purple arrow, above. Jupiter adds optimism, hope, enthusiasm and ‘justice’ to his communication (Mercury), self (Sun) and values (Venus). Or, at worst, it could be ‘excess’, or over-doing things. Exaggeration. These are flip-side characteristics of Jupiter.
A trine aspect is one that is not always switched on. So this combination will not always be in play. But if Biden motivates himself, he can bring Jupiter qualities to the forefront. Jupiter is ‘on call’ in his horoscope. There when he asks for it.
Uranus: opportunity for change
Uranus sits very close to the Gemini 7th house cusp in Joe Biden’s horoscope. It is conjunct (although a bit wide by orb) Saturn. This is shown by the blue oval, above.
Uranus form an opposition aspect (about 180 degrees) to Biden’s Sun-Venus combination, shown by the orange arrow.
This adds additional flavour to the mix. Whereas Jupiter can bring exaggeration and hope, Uranus is known for sudden change. It is the planet of reversals, surprises, eccentricity and innovation. In Biden’s case, these Uranus qualities might be ‘weighed down’ by Saturn. Saturn brings realism, discipline and maturity.
The 7th house is about other people, both personal and collective. He may have some surprising partners (Uranus) who are also conservative (Saturn). It is a good combination to have, for working with other candidates such as Elizabeth Warren. Because she has strong Uranian qualities denoted in her horoscope.
Moon in Taurus – values emotional stability
The Moon in Joe Biden’s horoscope is in the zodiac sign of Taurus (blue arrow, above). Taurus is known for representing endurance, consistency and the status quo. The Moon is about a person’s emotional nature, their emotional security needs. Biden therefore is someone who feels best when things are defined, clear, reliable and known. He finds emotional stability from consistency and life being predictable as possible. Taurus Moon people are not big fans of change!
Is he the next President of the United States?
The dates I look at to answer this question is Inauguration Day. The day when the person who wins the next U.S. election will legally and officially be sworn-in as President. That will occur on January 20th, 2021.
So we look at transits and Solar Arc Directions (SADs) for Biden on that day. The chart below uses the ’90 degree dial’ method. Joe Biden’s horoscope is center. Solar Arc Directions (middle) and transits (outer) are for January 20, 2021.
In the above, all squares, oppositions and conjunctions are displayed as conjunctions. So we can see that transiting Pluto is aspecting his Jupiter on this day (green arrow). This is something like what Trump had for his inauguration. Although it was more pronounced. Pluto denotes power and force aligning with Biden’s hope, optimism and enthusiasm (Jupiter).
And a combo of Mars, Uranus and Jupiter are aspecting his Pluto (blue arrow). This activates his Pluto (Power) around this time in his life.
And SAD Midheaven (aka ‘MC’) is aspecting his Saturn (red arrow). Although this is highly dependent on an accurate birth time. If symbolises career (MC) heading towards a period of discipline and maturity (Saturn).
Joe Biden’s horoscope: summary
A lack of major SAD aspects to Joe Biden’s horoscope is not a great forecast for becoming President. I’ve previously written about five previous U.S. Presidential election winners, and how the ‘planets aligned’ for them, coinciding with their inaugeration.
On the other hand, Biden has a bunch of transits occurring at Inauguration Day that indicate ‘something is going on’ at this time in his life.
Given his stature, reputation and poll results, Biden currently a potentially good chance of being the next President.
However, I personally believe someone more ‘radical’ (Bernie Sanders or a younger equivalent) could well be elected. This is due to the Jupiter-Saturn conjunction in late 2020, indicating a move into a much more revolutionary period, historically. A bit like the early 1960s, and John F. Kennedy.
Still, it will be interesting to see in the coming months how Biden’s horoscope stacks up against other candidates.
Those candidates with many active planetary aspects around Inauguration Day have the strongest astrological chance of being the next President. Those with little or no active SADs or transits … probably won’t.

Very interesting analogy. Thx. 12th House Sun (sacrificial ego desires) could be a disappointment for his supporters.

Interesting chart but I doubt that he’ll become president with stuff in the closet so to speak. Jupiter in Capricorn and Uranus in Taurus don’t help much either. It may be someone who’s even more progressive than he. Jupiter will enter Aquarius later this year and Pluto down the road which will signify world revolution in many countries for the coming years. If not, we will see the re-election of you know who for the next 4 years and then the crap will hit the fan.

I think the person being referred to in this quote is actually Pete Buttigieg. A shock event is coming!
