Johnny Depp’s horoscope

Johnny Depp is in trouble.
His former manager alleges the actor blew $880 million over 13 years.
Rolling Stone says Depp has “multimillion-dollar lawsuits, a haze of booze and hash, a marriage gone very wrong and a lifestyle he can’t afford.”
Let’s look at Johnny Depp’s horoscope and see what’s going on.

 

I have written about Depp before. Back then (May 2016) it was more specifically about his relationship with Amber Heard. Let’s now look at just his horoscope, by itself.

Depp was born June 9th, 1963, in Owensboro, Kentucky at 8:44am. This is accurate data from his birth certificate says astrodatabank.com.

Eight planets in earth

One of the first things I notice about his horoscope (or ‘chart’) is the number planets in earth signs. Three quarters (Mercury, Venus, Uranus, Mars, Pluto, and Moon) are in earth.

This predisposes him to a certain ‘heaviness’; he’s inclined to feel the ‘weight of the world’ more than most people. People with a lot of earth and/or water are more prone to Depression. Kurt Cobain is another example. I’ve written about him previously.

Mars conjunct Uranus and Pluto

Mars, the planet of action and ‘getting things done’ is conjunct (next to) both Uranus and Pluto. This is shown by the red oval, above.

And Mars sits right on the cusp (boundary) of his 2nd house. This is the house of personal resources, money and self-esteem.

Being conjunct Pluto gives Depp extra power and energy (Pluto) in terms of drive, focus and willpower (Mars). Although the conjunction is a bit wide as the Pluto is 6° away from Mars. Which means this combination is not as strong as the Uranus to his Mars – these two are only 2° apart.

The overall combination of Uranus, Mars and Pluto in Virgo surrounding the 2nd house cusp indicates powerful motivations to gain income and self-esteem (2nd house). Uranus adds variability. It means Depp can be eccentric, changeable, unpredictable and restless in pursuing these aims. Aims which will have an underlying ideal of precision and perfection (Virgo).

Since this planetary combination is in Virgo, we need to next look at Mercury in Johnny Depp’s horoscope. Because Mercury is the ruling planet of Virgo. These three planets look to Mercury as their guide, their CEO.

Mercury conjunct Venus

Mercury conjunct Venus means what Depp talks and thinks about (Mercury) is closely inter-twined with what he loves and values (Venus).

With Venus in Taurus, we have someone interested in luxury and the finer things in life. And both Venus and Mercury are in Depp’s house of career, the 10th (blue oval, above).

This means his career is partly about being able to speak and act with ‘love’, charm and charisma.

And this is closely connected to his Uranus, Mars, Pluto combination. The indicate his striving for luxury. Because their ruler, Mercury, is conjunct Venus.

Jupiter square Moon

Depp’s Moon is in Capricorn. This indicates his emotional stability (Moon) connects with traditional values, stability, discipline and structure.

But his Moon is in a square aspect (about 90°) to Jupiter, which exaggerates and enlarges this approach. This might give Depp emotional enthusiasm, or it might influence him to have ‘more’ of everything in order to feel emotionally settled. Just a little … is not enough.

And his Jupiter is in Aries, in the 9th house. The 9th is about travel, adventure. And Aries indicates this is one area he will enjoy being action-driven, impatient, and assertive.

His drive for adventure (Jupiter in the 9th) feeds his emotional stability (Moon). Jupiter is the only planet in Johnny Depp’s horoscope that’s in a fire sign.

Fire signs are the most action-driven of signs. And this could be Depp’s strongest ‘outlet’ to counterbalance the (overwhelming?) heaviness of his many planets in earth signs.

The above is a summary of Depp’s horoscope. Now let’s look at astrological events happening in his life right now.

Challenging transits

Transiting Jupiter is currently exactly conjunct Depp’s Neptune. And it will be so until mid-July. This is shown by the red arrow in the graphic ephemeris below (click it to show a larger image).

This is because transiting Jupiter is ‘stationing’. A planet is ‘stationing’ when slows and turns from being retrograde to being direct. Or vice versa. If a transiting planet is stationing while it also aspects a point in your horoscope, it’s a powerful and influential period of life.

This transit will – for anyone – amplify (Jupiter) Neptunian characteristics in life: fantasy, delusion, drugs, alcohol, escapism and idealism.

For Depp, this is most strongly experienced at home (Neptune is in his 4th house, the house of home). It also indicates a period of exaggeration, over-optimism, lack of clarity.

In the graphic ephemeris below Johnny Depp’s horoscope planets are the straight lines from the right. Transits (planets moving) are the wavy lines from the left.

In the graphic ephemeris diagram you will also see transiting Neptune square his Sun (shown by the blue arrow). The aspect does not become exact by degree, but it hovers within a few degrees of exact.

Neptune blurs things. For Depp, it is his personality (Sun, ruler of his Leo Ascendant, or rising sign) and sense of who he is that may seem confusing and unclear at this time.

In a few months (green arrow) another transit becomes active. This is transiting Uranus, which will be conjunct his Midheaven, or MC. This is through July and August. This brings instability, change and Uranian renewal to his career (MC). Expect a time of change, instability, and perhaps some radical and surprising choices for Depp in terms of career direction.

Johnny Depp’s horoscope: summary

Depp has a life of charismatic and eccentric excess. This is indicated by Uranus, Mars and Pluto conjunct in Virgo focused on his 2nd house. The 2nd house is about personal possessions. Of which Depp has 45 luxury vehicles, 70 guitars and 14 residences.

Pluto provides power and intensity for his drive to achieve these personal goals. Uranus makes them often unusual (e.g. firing the ashes of former pal Hunter S. Thompson out of a cannon for $4 million).

What also motivates these actions is Depp’s Mercury, which is conjunct Venus. Venus in Taurus inclines to lavishness, the finer things in life, luxury.

In terms of the current astrological climate for Depp, transiting Jupiter is the most prominent. Since June, its intensity has increased. it exaggerates Depp’s wishes to ‘escape’, it will make everything seem a fantasy, idealises, unclear, blurred. But this will pass. By mid-August the effect will be less.

Transiting Neptune to his Sun and Uranus to his MC are more specific. Neptune to Sun casts a temporary ‘haze’ over who Johnny Depp Actually Is, given his Ascendant is ruled by the Sun. And our Ascendant is about personality. The haze may given Depp a false or confusing sense of who he is. He may not know who to believe right now. Everything might seem out of focus.

And when Uranus kicks-in in July and August, he may decide to suprise everyone. He could take a radically different approach to his career, a new and surprising direction.

Depp is not a lightweight. With so many planets in earth, he likely finds it difficult to step out of life’s heaviness and endurance.
