U.S. actress Meghan Markle will marry England’s Prince Harry on May 19th, 2018.
The couple met in July 2016 and announced their engagement in November 2017. Let’s take a look at Meghan Markle’s horoscope and also see how it connects with Harry’s.
Astrodatabank.com says Meghan Markle is born on August 4th, 1981, 4:46 am at Canoga Park, California. This data is rated ‘AA’, meaning it’s very accurate.
One feature that stands out in Meghan Markle’s horoscope is her Moon, Saturn and Jupiter. These planets are all close together (aka ‘conjunct’) in Libra. This is shown by the blue oval, above. Pluto is nearby too, also in Libra.
Libra is an air sign, ruled by Venus. It is the sign of seeking balance, harmony, give-and-take. These qualities are part of Markle’s makeup, particularly her emotional life, which is represented in anyone’s horoscope by the Moon.
Her Moon in Libra indicates her emotional security is gained through Libra-stuff: feeling interconnected, listened-to, valued, connected. Saturn right next door to her Moon indicates ‘gravity’ and seriousness inflects this emotional nature. Which can be a good thing. Or it might seem too ‘heavy’ at times.
Jupiter is also nearby. This has a complementary and yet seemingly opposite energy to Saturn. Jupiter enlarges, exaggerates. It is optimism, hope. So both Saturn and Jupiter will be influencing Markle’s emotional nature. A combination of both discipline (Saturn) and optimism, enlargement (Jupiter) mixed together.
Ascendant in Cancer
The Ascendant is how we appear to others, our public face. Markle’s Ascendant is in Cancer (green arrow, above). Cancer is ruled by the Moon. So this indicates someone who’s emotional nature is on public display; it’s part of how she comes across. And is thus likely to seem a good listener, someone with the ability to interact with others.
And to some extent reliable and controlled (Saturn). Yet at times also equally optimistic (Jupiter). And this optimistic side is uplifted by having Harry in her life, as we shall see shortly.
Overall Markle will appear as someone who seems to be a negotiator, someone who values interaction (Moon in Libra) and concern for others. This is a good feature for supporting her humanitarian activism.
Mercury sextile Moon, Saturn and Jupiter
Markle’s Mercury is in Leo, indicating she thinks and communicates in a fairly self-directed and fiery (Leo is a fire sign) way. This might at times seem at odds with her Libra qualities, which emphasise interaction with others.
Her Mercury receives a sextile aspect from her Moon, Saturn and Jupiter combination (purple arrow, above).
This tells us that how she thinks and communicates may appear to be ‘about herself.’ Yet it is underpinned with the Libra qualities mentioned above. And while she communicates in a fiery (Mercury in Leo) way, underneath that presentation will be potential for emotional self-control (Moon-Saturn) mixed with emotional exaggeration, optimism and hope (Moon-Jupiter).
Relationship preferences
A person’s needs or ‘taste’ in terms of relationships is shown by the sign on the 7th house cusp. In Markle’s case, hers is Capricorn, which is a conservative and traditional sign. This is well-suited to her choice of Harry, given his position in the English royalty. Markle likes a traditional, reliable relationship. One that is structured and sensible, to some degree.
Saturn is in Libra, as mentioned above. This adds further information, in that her preference is for traditional, but also someone who interacts in a give-and-take way. And someone who connects closely with her on an emotional level (Saturn conjunct Moon).
Synastry with Prince Harry’s horoscope
Astrologers look at relationships by putting two people’s horoscopes alongside each other. This is called looking at the ‘synastry’ between their two charts (aka horoscopes). Synastry can tell us something about how the two people interact, or interconnect.
The key factors are those planets in one person’s chart that aspects planets in the other one.
Prince Harry was born September 15th, 1984 at 4:20 pm in Paddington, England. This is also very accurate birth data. If we put Meghan’s chart in the inner circle, and Harry’s on the outside, we get this:
There are at least four strong interconnections between them.
First, there’s mutual attraction and chemistry. Which in any two relationship horoscopes is shown by connections between Venus and/or Mars in one chart, and Venus and/or Mars in the other.
Here we have Meghan Markle’s Venus in square aspect to Harry’s Mars (red arrows, above). This indicates strong and immediate attraction.
Second, Harry’s Jupiter is square to Markle’s Moon, Saturn, Jupiter combination, shown by the orange arrows. This means Harry will boost Meghan’s Jupiter, and will lift her emotional spirits, so that her feelings are not overly dominated by Saturn’s pragmatic and conservative approach. Harry is an emotional catalyst here.
Thirdly, Harry’s Saturn squares Markle’s Sun (blue arrows). This might be seen as restrictive and controlling. Or, more positively, Harry offering a pragmatic and structured assistance to help Markle be herself.
Finally (green arrows), Markle’s Neptune is square Harry’s Sun. Neptune is mystery, allure, imagination. Markle brings these qualities to Harry’s sense of himself (Sun). She will be able to help him ‘think outside the square’.
Meghan Markle’s horoscope: summary
Markle has many attributes that equip her for her new life as part of the British royal family. She has a conservative side, and is able to be emotionally disciplined when required. She will not be reckless. There’s also qualities of interaction, connectedness, balance in her horoscope.
Compared to Harry, she is perhaps more of an introvert, given that most of her chart’s planets are below the horizon (his are the opposite).
They have many interconnections between their respective horoscopes. Attraction and chemistry is certainly there. As is Harry’s ability to uplift Markle’s emotional side. But there’s a risk that the Prince will appear to be too controlling (Saturn to her Sun). And a chance that Harry may have an overly strong ‘fantasy’ about their relationship (her Neptune to his Sun). Alternatively, this could simply be that she provides a kind of inspiration for him.
Meghan Markle’s horoscope is remarkably free of outer planets (Uranus, Neptune, Pluto) aspecting inner ones. This makes for a less complicated life! And denotes someone who’s focus will be more on the everyday lived experience, rather than a more complex nature and associated undercurrents that the outer planets convey when they aspect the inner ones.

Mercury doesn’t square Moon-Saturn-Jupiter conjunction. It forms a sextile with it.

My bad! Thanks for pointing this out. I’ve revised the text accordingly.

Pilot…..it does say sextile …..Nicely put

“This makes for a less complicated life! She will not be reckless. There’s also qualities of interaction, connectedness, balance in her horoscope.”
This 2017 prediction isn’t working out so well. See 2020.
Charles says
It wasn’t a prediction. It was a summary of inclinations, predispositions. Her life is complicated by how she has interacted with the royal family and her husband.

In the future they are not to stay together

Jessie Czebotar claims Meghan Markle has a secret life as ambitious witch. Do you see secrecy in her natal horoscope?
Ria says
This must be the most unfounded, wrong and superficial interpretation of a horoscope i gave ever seen. Wrongly named aspect. Simplistic explanation of single planets and not a single idea of how this would work together.
Moons nodes not mentioned either.
This here shows a totally selfcentred person. Enhanced by the moons node which drives the desire to egotistical hights. Need to always talk and have the say!
Falling node in 7h? She needs no relationship. She is not even supposed to gave one. She came to put herself FIRST.
Oh – and she loves money with that venusl
Speaking of the combined horoscopes:
The mars Square leave them dissetified sexually and competing in other ways.
And her Neptune square his sun ? DICIET! . Not spiritual at all. She pulls the wool over his eyesl
Look at her personality and her moons nodes. The gratest egotist.
You have no idea what you are talking about an give “expertise” here. You are a beginner with a book beside you painting fairytales!
Charles says
I am not a ‘beginner’ – I’ve studied and applied astrology for 25 years, run two conferences, spoken at national conferences, etc.
The posts on this site content generally aimed at people new to astrology.
People with South Nodes in the 7th – they are capable and allowed to have relationships! South Node are instinctual habits that we need to move away from. North Node in Leo 1st house – her life goal is to have a stronger sense of self. That can be implemented well. Or poorly. Or something in between.
How does Venus in Virgo in the 3rd house relate to your view that she “loves money”? If it was in the 2nd house, of personal money, then yes. But it isn’t.
Mars square Venus – indicative of attraction that I’ve seen in numerous synastry examples over many years.
I aim to not give negative opinions about horoscopes – what people DO with the signatures in their charts is up to them to use wisely.
Charts themselves do not indicate such opinions as “the greatest egotist.”
I aim to give a fairly objective overview of a person’s qualitative predispositions. If someone with this chart came to me as a client, I would never ever dump on them anything remotely like the negative views you have.
As Robert Hand said in a recent audio I listened to, he said that just looking at a chart we cannot tell HOW the person will DEAL WITH their various themes. For him, it is only by speaking with the client and asking a number of relevant questions, can he get an indication of the level the person operates at. He tailors his reading with the client accordingly.

I have a challenging chart, and wouldn’t like to be judged by it. A well meaning but somewhat self important male acquaintance who hadn’t really depthed his astrological knowledge, said that if he didn’t know me, he would assume my chart to indicate… ( I can’t actually say what he said, it was flippant & cruel )
MM came across initially as charming, now days, not so much, my 2 cents is that the Jupiter moon Saturn combo could be v difficult, depression, inflation & overthinking. Stories she’s telling herself about herself,

Given that you had to keep your interpretation tight as most people struggle to read more than 500 words on a website, I felt that you gave an accurate and well balanced reading, Charles. It is quite clear that Megan raises the hackles of many royalphiles but it seems some have left their manners at the door when they decided to deride your reading.
You have stated what many other internet astrologers have failed to recognise: the power of the Saturn-Jupiter conjunction to her Moon (ruler of her Asc and Lord of the Chart). This is the focal point of her chart and thus drives a deep and foundational need for nurturing. Her emotional needs conflict with her needs to express the joyfulness of her Leo Sun which is supported by her Mars in the first house (I use the Whole Sign house system which places Mars in the 1st).
Thank you for your interpretation, I enjoyed it.
